Renfrew is bordered by Edmonton Trail to the west, Nose Creek Valley to the east, the TransCanada Highway to the north and the Bow River escarpment to the south. Downtown Calgary is within three kilometers and is directly accessible by Edmonton Trail. Renfrew did not develop until the 1940s, after the Calgary Airport relocated from its original site on the corner of 6th Street and Regal Crescent.

Regal Terrace / Renfrew is larger and sought after community. You can still find very well priced homes as area develops with Bridgeland to the south. It is still close enought to downtown for an easy commute with many residents enjoying the walk.
